How they used Delve

The Gilead COMPASS Coordinating Centers team used Delve to code 36 statements from grantee reports, chosen for its ease of use, to find the common themes in how 41 southern HIV service organizations spent emergency operating-support funds at the onset of COVID-19.

“Thirty-six statements from final grantee reports were coded to identify themes in the data. Responses often mentioned multiple uses of awarded funds. The Delve Qualitative Analysis Tool was used to help organize responses, selected for its ease of use, and its ability to organize codes and themes found in the data.”

Abstract

Southern community-based and HIV/AIDS service organizations (CBOs) were particularly vulnerable to the onset of COVID-19 due to already fragile infrastructures and underfunded budgets. At the height of the pandemic, the Gilead COMPASS Coordinating Centers launched the Southern CARE Grant, awarding 41 grants to provide supplemental operational support funds.
