Grounded theory researchers use Delve to move from open coding through axial and selective coding without losing track of the excerpts behind each category. The studies here come from education, public health, human-computer interaction, and business, and include work in npj Mental Health Research, BMJ Open, and the International Journal of Human-Computer Studies alongside several dissertations.
These studies are mostly interview-based and mostly single-researcher, which fits a method where the analyst’s constant comparison is the engine. Several follow Charmaz’s constructivist approach, some combine grounded theory coding with thematic analysis, and a few describe writing memos in Delve as fieldwork went on.
Delve supports the iterative shape of the method. Codes are created freely during initial coding, then merged, split, and nested as categories form. Memos sit alongside the codes. Code pages make constant comparison practical by showing every excerpt under a category together, and new transcripts can be added and coded against the existing scheme as theoretical sampling continues.
