Thematic analysis is the method researchers use Delve for most often, and the studies span every field represented here, from nursing and oncology to computer science and environmental management. They appear in clinical journals, ACM proceedings, and a long run of doctoral dissertations, and they come from universities on every continent.

The typical study is built on semi-structured interviews, often somewhere between six and fifty of them, with focus groups and open-ended survey responses the next most common data. Roughly a third describe coding as a pair or team, and many of those report how the coders compared and reconciled their work. Most cite Braun and Clarke’s six phases, and a growing share use the reflexive form.

In Delve the coding phases happen on the transcript itself. Researchers highlight excerpts and apply codes, then nest related codes under candidate themes as patterns emerge.
