Researchers at Virginia Tech used Delve for collaborative grounded theory coding of focus group and video data from 22 participants experiencing a cross-device mixed-reality artwork, working from 38 open codes through axial coding into a taxonomy of 3 dimensions, 10 components and 34 attributes.

Focus group interviews with 22 VR-experienced participants (11 male, 11 female, mean age 24.18) drawn from engineering, science, humanities and art, plus recorded video of their sessions with a cross-device mixed-reality artwork, alongside an auto-ethnographic reflection by the artist
Approach
Grounded theory with iterative collection, coding and analysis until no significant new categories emerged: open coding produced 38 codes or "attributes", then axial coding organised them into relationships and higher-order categories, yielding a final taxonomy of 3 dimensions, 10 sub-categories and 34 attributes; three further team members reviewed and finalised the taxonomy structure
