How they used Delve
A sociology master's student at North Carolina State University used Delve to line-by-line code 42 Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) articles in an abductive qualitative content analysis of how Latina immigrants are portrayed, and appended the Delve-exported codebook (code names, snippet counts, descriptions) to the thesis.
“In an effort to get a detailed picture of the discussion, I line-by-line coded the 19 articles in Delve qualitative analysis software. Following this detailed analysis, the initial codes were used to form a preliminary codebook.”
- Field

- Approach
- Abductive qualitative content analysis (Tavory & Timmermans) with inductive line-by-line coding of an initial 19 articles, then focused and theoretical coding per Charmaz's grounded theory across the full 42; sensitizing concepts from Collins' controlling-images theory
