Mixed methods studies that used Delve

Mixed methods studies use Delve for the qualitative strand and set the coded findings beside their survey, scale, or trial results. Public health, education, medicine, and psychology account for most of them, and many are national or multi-site surveys where interviews or open-ended responses explain what the numbers showed.

The qualitative strand is nearly always thematic analysis. The data are usually interviews, or interviews combined with the open-ended questions from the study’s own survey, and a few studies coded hundreds of free-text responses. About half describe two or more coders, and several report intercoder agreement.

Delve handles the qualitative strand. Open-ended survey responses import from a CSV so each participant’s answers stay linked to their survey row, and descriptors let researchers compare themes across the groups the quantitative analysis defined. Coded excerpts and code counts export to Word or a spreadsheet to sit beside the statistics.
